Effective Ways to Challenge Your Negative Thoughts
We all have negative thoughts coming into our mind everyday. In fact, humans have around 40,000 to 60,000 thoughts daily.
Not surprisingly, many of our daily thoughts and worries are the same as the day before and last week. We constantly repeat our thought patterns on a daily basis without being aware of them. This means that if we keep thinking and believing our negative thoughts every single day, over time, these thoughts will add up and have negative effects on our happiness level. The negative effects can include anxiety, depression, and a sense of helplessness.
What we tell ourselves everyday matter and happy people tend to practice “learned optimism” which is explained below in the infographic. Happy people don’t get themselves too personally and emotionally attached to specific unfortunate or negative experiences because they know that “this too shall pass”. Instead, they train themselves to believe that better things will happen as they learn from their experiences.
